Sizzling Kebabs have always been a favorite at family gatherings and barbecues. The aroma of the marinated meat grilling over an open flame is simply irresistible. I remember my grandmother teaching me her secret marinade recipe that has been passed down through generations. It's amazing how food can bring people together and create lasting memories.

These kebabs are not only delicious but also versatile. You can use different types of meat, such as chicken, beef, or lamb, and even mix in some vegetables for added flavor and texture. The key to making these kebabs truly sizzle is the perfect balance of spices and the right grilling technique.

Over the years, I've experimented with various ingredients and cooking methods, but this recipe remains my go-to for a guaranteed crowd-pleaser. I hope you enjoy making and sharing these Sizzling Kebabs with your loved ones as much as I do.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless chicken, beef, or lamb, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 large red onion, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 large bell pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • Wooden or metal skewers

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine yogurt, olive oil, garlic, paprika, cumin, coriander, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix well to form a smooth marinade.
  2. Add the cubed meat to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight for best results.
  3. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes before grilling to prevent burning.
  4. Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
  5. Thread the marinated meat, onion, and bell pepper onto the skewers, alternating between meat and vegetables.
  6. Grill the kebabs for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the meat is cooked through and the vegetables are tender.
  7. Remove the kebabs from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
