Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup oyster sauce
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together oyster sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and red pepper flakes (if using). Set aside.
  2. In another small bowl, mix cornstarch and water until smooth. Set aside.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced flank steak and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the broccoli florets to the skillet and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, or until they are tender-crisp.
  5. Pour the sauce mixture over the beef and broccoli, stirring to coat evenly. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Stir in the cornstarch mixture and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, or until the sauce thickens.
  7. Remove from heat and drizzle with sesame oil. Serve immediately over rice or noodles.
